LOK Grips G10 Texture Options

LOK Grips G10 Texture Options

LOK Grips offers a variety of textures that range from concealed carry options to grip textures designed for competition. A handgun’s grip is your interface with the gun. For peak performance from self defense to shooting steel targets, a properly fitting grip fits your hand and is not too abrasive nor slick. With a properly fitted grip you will see an increase in accuracy, speed, and performance.

LOK grips knows that one size and one textures does not fit all so LOK offers a range of G10 grip textures. Let’s take a look at those textures and what those grip textures are designed for. Remember, most LOK Grips are available in thin, standard, and palm swell options. Revolver grips offer finger grooves and a grip that wraps around to cover the backstrap.

LOK Grips Veloce: Texture Comfort Balance

LOK Grips 1911 Veloce Texture
LOK Grips Veloce provides the perfect combination of grip texture with shooting comfort. The front half of the side panels have a golf ball like texture and the back half of the panels have a coarse checkering. The Veloce grip texture has the ability to offer great traction where your fingers grasp the grip, the palm area is less aggressive so shooting hotter loads doesn’t abrade the web of your hand. The Veloce G10 grip texture is  a good option for concealed carry and powerful caliber options. Beretta uses LOKGrips on their premium 92XI SAO competition models.

LOK Grips Carbon Fiber: Smooth and Sexy

LOK Grips P320 AXG Carbon Fiber
LOK Grips carbon fiber grips are not textured but polished smooth. The grip is in no way slippery. It feels good in hand and is an excellent choice for concealed carry as the Carbon Fiber grip texture does not snag on clothing.

LOK Grips Bogies: Super Aggressive Traction

LOK Grips 1911 Bogies
LOK Grips Bogies G10 grips really kick up the traction texture. The Bogie texture has a golf ball dimple surface that provides a very aggressive grip. In my opinion, the Bogies texture feels like my hand is super glued to the pistol. I don’t recommend Bogies for concealed carry since the texture can snag on clothing, but if you are a professional and don’t want to leave a slippery grip to chance, Bogies is your option.

LOK Ops: Tactical Ready Texture

LOK Ops merges two types of texture for an aggressive, tactical grasp. The front portion of the grip, where your fingers grasp the pistol, has a texture of golf ball dimples except a lot toothier. The rear portion of the grip has the Ridgebacks surface treatment of ridges that are angled upward to lock your hand in place and prevent any movement during recoil. LOK Ops G10 grips are a good combination of traction for an optimal grip for concealed carry, professional use, or competition.

LOK GridLOK: Aluminum or Brass

LOK Grips 1911 GridLOK - Aluminum
GridLOK Palm Swell grips fill the palm of your hand because they are thicker than standard grips at the thickest point and extremely comfortable. These are grips you want on your competition pistol. In fact, SIG uses the GridLOK Palm Swells on their top of the line Reserve Collection P226-XFive pistol. GridLOK grips not only offer texture, the brass version adds about 8.3 extra ounces(varies by grip shape and gun model), which translates into better recoil control and follow up shots. GridLOK Palm Swells are also available in lightweight aluminum. With either brass or aluminum, the aggressive texture offers maximum traction and control. If you shoot competition, consider GridLOK grips.

LOK Grips Semis: Light Texture

The Semis texture is virtually smooth except they have subtle ripples that provide a light amount of texture for a sure grip. Semis G10 grips also really show off the layers of colors in the G10 material depending on color choices. The Semis texture is an excellent option for concealed carry.

LOK Grips Mayhem: Medium Aggressive

LOK’s Mayhem grips have a medium-aggressive texture that looks like fragmented pieces over the entire grip. These grips look great especially with the G10 color layers and feels good in hand. Mayhem is a good option for concealed carry or if you prefer a medium aggressive texture on your competition pistol.

LOK Grips Crosscut: Diagonal Grooves

Diagonal grooves are cut into the G10 to create the Crosscut grips. Crosscut has a medium-light texture with a cross-hatch pattern that helps prevent slippage with sweaty, wet, or oily hands. Crosscut is another great option for concealed carry.

LOK Grips Roughnecks: Toothy and Aggressive

If you want one of the most aggressive textures LOK Grips offers then the Roughnecks is your option. The checkering on Roughnecks grips is big and sharp—call it toothy—to allow you to maintain a solid, no-slip grip on your pistol regardless of the environmental conditions.  Try Roughnecks for your competition gun or your tactical pistol.

LOK Grips Classics: Always In Style

The Classics texture is a medium-aggressive surface in the middle of the grip. The smooth, outer edge boarder prevents any snagging on clothing. Classics is a timeless and very useful grip texture for concealed carry.
